To qualify for a vacation at Waupoos, your family needs to meet all of the following criteria:

1. This is the only family vacation longer than two nights away from home for the family during the period of June to September 2012.
2. At least one child is 16 years of age or under.
3. And either:
   

¹Statistics Canada Low Income Cut-off (LICO) for the Ottawa region (community greater than 500,000)

 

Low income cut-offs (LICOs) are income thresholds, determined by analysing family expenditure data, below which families will devote a larger share of income to the necessities of food, shelter and clothing than the average family would.  Statistics Canada has always referred to the low income cut-offs and low income measures as indicators of the extent to which some Canadians are less well-off than others based solely on income and as such, are low income and not poverty measures … The purpose … is to provide the dollar cut-offs used to define the low income population.

 

In Ottawa a family unit is considered low income if the combined before-tax income of the family unit is below the following:
