How to Become a Volunteer

Waupoos offers many opportunities for volunteering ranging from organized volunteer days year-round to high school community service and corporate work days. There are always many tasks available and we welcome groups or individuals willing to come to do repairs, clean and help maintain the Waupoos grounds so that it can continue to provide vacations to families in need!

Volunteering during cottager stays as a host family is a rewarding experience for both the families visiting and the volunteers, and continues to bring a sense of community to the farm.

"It's amazing - I went to the farm because I wanted to give something back to the community, and yet I received so much in return." -- Gillian

Thank you for considering being a volunteer and know that you will be making an impact on many families in Ottawa.

There are many ways to get involved at Waupoos. Consider:
    1. Becoming a Farm Family or Host Family
    2. Becoming a member of a committee
    2. Individual opportunities (ie. volunteer driver)
    3. Corporate work days
    4. High School Students Seeking Community Service Hours
    5. Waupoos Work and Clean- Up Days
    6. Summer Staff

We have an online volunteer task list that outlines various projects that need to be completed on the farm. If you feel you can help with a project on this list, take it on yourself or find a team to work with, please contact our office to meet with a member of the farm management team to discuss further details.

Also, as many of our vacationing families do not have vehicles, we are always in need of volunteers to drive our families to and from the farm for their vacation. If you can help in this capacity, please contact the office.

If you are interested in getting involved at Waupoos, please email  contact@waupoos.com or call 613-822-2189 and leave a message.
