Special Help- August 2022

By | Cottage Sessions

This week at Waupoo’s we wanted to humbly thank two special helpers during our garbage pickup! These two brave boys were willing to help staff by lifting up immense piles of garbage. Thanks to them, we were able to finish garbage pick-up twice as quick.

Kitten Update:

Little Petey is getting bigger, whilst his sister (Spirit) hasn’t grown at all. They seem just as energetic as they’d always been, playing about and even gently pawing at cellphones. Here they are in their full glory!

Cookie Baking:

The artistic activity this week was one that didn’t involve glitter glue or paint, but instead copious amounts of butter and sugar. After mixing and shaping the ingredients the children and staff were able to enjoy some homemade cookies.

That wraps our second last week! Come back again for our last, and most exciting week  next time!

Waupoos Farm Fun- August 2022

By | Cottage Sessions

This week, the animals seemed to be the star of the show. Kitten updates, hearts for Piggy Wiggy, and friendly chickens/turkeys! Please read below for some updates on our fuzzy friends!

Weekly Kitten Update:

Little Petey and Spirit are more energetic than ever. They seem completely comfortable in their new home now, and they’ve gotten incredibly attached to our Animal Care Crew. With plenty of access to many different toys, cat towers, and even television on special occasions.

This week in particular they were put into costumes and didn’t seem to mind in the slightest. Of course, we were sure to take plenty of photos, making an excellent Feline Photoshoot.

Some Piggy Wiggy Love:

Lots of watermelons were brought to the lodge this week, and even with everyone feasting on some delicious melon, we had enough for Wiggy as well! One of our talented staff cut out a heart in the watermelon, and that slice, in particular, seemed to be Wiggy’s favorite! Look at how excited they are!

Friendly Chickens and Turkeys:

When the chickens were first brought to Waupoos they were terribly skittish and tended to hide in their coop. But with lots of love, in due time they became comfortable enough to eat out of people’s hands, and they even become excited to see their favorite staff! Whenever they catch sight of their two favorite folks, they come flocking to the gate.

They’ve grown plenty within the past few weeks, and they’re healthier and stronger than ever!

That’s a wrap for week six! We look forward to seeing everyone next week!

Waupoo’s Nature Fun- August 2022

By | Cottage Sessions

The sixth week at Waupoos was where cottagers were allowed to revel in nature. Check out this gorgeous keepsake our host made!

Kitten Update:

Little Petey and Spirit now have a kingdom of their very own! Put together fantastically by our two staff; Rachel and Madison, I’m sure the cats are forever grateful for their perfect little kingdom. These too felines are bustling with life, and enjoy playing on their brand-new cat towers. With that said, they’re still incredibly friendly and enjoy being pat on the head.

Painting and Bracelet fun:

With the option of doing bracelets or painting, the group finally decided on doing both! Parents were able to drop their kids to this activity and relax while their children spent some time letting their artistic juices flow.

We look forward to seeing you next week!

Waupoos Frenzy!- July 2022

By | Cottage Sessions

Many kids gathered at Waupoos Family Farm this week, and we were delighted to have them here! The pool welcomed dozens of guests, and the activities were bustling with smiling children.

Welcome Home Spirit, and Little Pete!

On July 26, 2022, we welcomed two precious kittens to our farm! The kids decided on the name ‘Spirit’ for the black one, and ‘Little Pete’ for the black and white one. While Spirit can be timid at times, she warms up to people eventually and be incredibly cuddly. On the flip side, Little Pete is an energetic bundle of joy that loves to play with everyone! Of course, our animal maintenance staff spoiled these fantastic felines with toys and treats!

Scavenger Paint Time

Instead of the run-of-the-mill paint session, this week’s host family planned a mix of painting and a scavenger hunt. Cottagers were given clues and hints to find the painting supplies before they could start making their masterpieces.

Bonfire Fun

The Bonfires hosted at Waupoos are like none other! With mouth-watering smores, and singing that’ll make you feel like you’re viewing a concert of your very own, what’s not to love? Come on down and cozy up around the fire when you can!

Hats off to another amazing week at Waupoos! We look forward to seeing you next time!
